As well as dominating the commercial vehicle
market, turbochargers are now used in over 5 million cars on Britain's roads:
that's around one in five, and the proportion is growing every year.
Many of these turbochargers will need attention or replacement at some
point, and that’s a profit-making opportunity for vehicle repairers.
BTN is here to help you make the most of that opportunity – from fast and
efficient supply of replacement turbos to technical assistance with fault
diagnosis. As part of our support for you, we will be holding a series
of roadshows around the UK later this year. They are designed to be of value
to everyone who may have to work on a turbocharged engine, whether car or
commercial, from service managers to technicians who are new to the
industry.
By attending a roadshow, you will gain an insight into:

The principles of turbocharging, including the reasons why the technology has become so popular.

A brief history of turbochargers, from the early models to the latest
variable turbine units. You will also see the difference between
turbochargers and superchargers.

How to diagnose turbo faults.

How to identify the correct replacement unit, from the dataplate on the
turbo or by BTN’s exclusive VIN/engine number recognition system.

How to remove and refit a turbocharger.
Details are still being finalised, but we plan for the roadshows to run
later this year, in or around Glasgow, Manchester or Leeds, Birmingham,
London and Exeter. Each will last for approximately half a day.
